THERGLAS HEATING GLASS
THERGLAS Heating Glass prevents the formation of ice, frost and mist in cold weather, even in the most rigorous temperatures. A special device can be supplied on request which proviudes accelerated defrosting by temporary power increase.

Composition
THERGLAS is laminated safety glass which consist of two or more layers of float glass closely welded by means of one or more layers of polyvinyl butyral (PVB).
Tungsten electric wires of almost microscopic diameter are arranged inside the interlayer in sinusoidal form.

CHARACTERISTICS
Transparency
The heating wires hardly affect transparency because at normal distances they are invisible. Light refraction or reflection or image distortion are strongly reduced or or even totally eliminated by special processes.

Behaviour in the Event of Breakage
Normally, THERGLAS heating glass is made of hardened or chemically toughened KEM-REX glass sheets thus combining the impact and thermal shock resistances of tempered glass and the safety against injuries of laminated glasses. Since the glass splits into relatively large fragments, (particularly if it is only hardened), visibility is only partially affected, and since the glass remains in place, the period awaiting a replacement is not too troublesome.

Voltage
THERGLAS heating glass is subject to the official Swiss control. It is authorized for all usual voltages, up to 1500 volts, provided that there is adequate insulation for the supply cable. Even for high currents, the electrical insulation guarantees maxiumum safety.

Uses
Special buildings, control towers, airports, outside cashiers windows in banks, shop frontages, refrigeration rooms, operating rooms, swimming pools, etc.
Road vehicles, locomotives, snow ploughs, trucks, buses, cars, ships, aircraft, etc.

Maximum Glass Dimensions
- Above 300 X 200 cm, manufacture against special orders.
- Thickness varies according to type: from 6,7 mm upward.
- Curved and coloured glass: information on request.

TYPES OF STRUCTURE
Laminated glass with heating wires incorporated composed of two or more layers of glass.
Made of:
    - clear or tinted glasses
    - normal or toughened glasses
Made with:
    - reinforced interlayers
    - multiple reinforced interlayers
    - normal or colored interlayers

ORDERS
Orders for therglass heating glass are completed on the basis of:
    A) drawings and/or
    b) templates
The voltage required should also be stated, and also the position of the connector, the required power and the requirements that the glass must meet.
A team of specialists from Verres Industries SA is at your disposal to determine the required power.

COMBINATIONS
THERGLAS-MOUTEX
Heating Insulating Glass

Combining a THERGLAS heating glass with MOUTEX insulating glass makes it possible to achieve a considerable reduction in heat transmission. This results in a considerable reduction in the heating periods, and thus a reduction in power consumption.

THERGLAS-THRIGLAS
Heating Alarm Glass

The element includes three layers of glass and two interlayers, one equipped with heating wires and the other with alarm wires.
The whole unit can be combined with MOUTEX insulating glass so as to reduce the necessary heating periods.

THERGLAS-THRIGLAS
Heating Bullet Resistant Glass

The insertion of heating wires in bullet resistant glass combines security and comfort. It is also possible to provide the heating bullet resistant element with alarm wires and also with Moutex insulating glass so as to reduce power consumption.

SUBSEQUENT FINISHING
Glass supplied to users specified dimensions cannot be given any later finishing (beveling, cutting, drilling holes, etc.).
